FAQs
It all depends on the dog's preference. My mom has a Shih Tzu who eats these without a problem. But I know there are other small dogs who do not because they prefer smaller sizes. You know your dog best but overall, yes, small dogs can eat these treats.
That's okay. The only reason a dog would swallow these treats whole is if the dog is large enough to do so. Therefore the treat isn't going to be a choking hazard.
Your dog is still getting the nutrients from the treat and they still understand that they received the reward.
These are meant to be fed as treats not a meal, so it's not recommended to feed the whole bag in one day.
If your dog is new to eating organ meat then you will want to serve in limited amounts initially in order to avoid digestive upset.
Beef liver is high in Vitamin A. Too much of this vitamin can lead to Vitamin A toxicity.
But this doesn't mean to be afraid to feed it. Dogs on raw diets need 5% of their diet to be liver so it's a very important organ to feed.
Always monitor your dog when giving them new food.
